2026 winter artist retreat

artist retreat, winter 2026

February 19-22, 2026 /\ Great Barrington, MA

elements

we’ll have a loose schedule that we can flow with, structured around food and an offering of sessions to choose from. i will guide us through discussions and each of you will also play a role that will root us in presence, connection, and care.

the menu will be entirely organic and gluten free, locally sourced for seasonal, fresh ingredients, in support of our land’s farmers.

sample elements: maker stations // five minute info-gush about your craft // outdoor reset // obit drafting // confessional

in your bag

a week ahead of the retreat i’ll send a note about the forecast and anything else you’ll need to come with to feel prepared for how we’ll spend the time. i’ll include your role so you can mentally prepare—or dress the part.

an important segment of the retreat is a focus on unfinished business. is there an idea that’s been orbiting you? is there something you’ve started and set aside before finishing? each of us will bring an idea or a piece that needs polishing, with a little help from our friends.

sample baggage: supplies // a notebook // an open mind // packing list to come

the pearl

like the oyster, we’ll come together with raw ideas, filtering out noise, responsibility, and routines from our everyday lives, allowing fresh perspectives and collective inspiration to shape our œuvres, how we think about our processes, and how we might soften our edges to flow more easily. we’ll reconvene virtually after our time together with curiosity and accountability, support, and care for the futures of our individual efforts.
